Homeschool Community Bulletin Board
Selected Events pertaining to Christian Homeschooling & the Christian Family, in General …
- This page is offered as a community networking service
- While we try to list only those things that will faithfully uphold God’s Word and edify the Christian homeschooling community, listing on this page DOES NOT IMPLY Christian Heritage endorsement.
- The Christian Heritage board encourages you to investigate a listed activity to make sure it is suitable for your family.
- Listings are chosen on the basis of suitability for a large number of homeschooling families in a broad geographical area rather than smaller, local activities
- Listings limited to actual events, not classes, tutoring services, support groups & their activities, co-ops, etc.
- Listings are limited, in part, to those with which CH is somewhat familiar, those which CH believes are most pertinent to its members, and those which most support the vision of this ministry. Christian Heritage reserves the right to list or not list an event at their discretion without explanation.
- To submit an event for consideration, please e-mail to Contact Us and be sure to include details and sources

Featured artists:
Samuel Metzger, senior organist at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, Florida,

In addition to two concert programs, the symposium will feature workshops on various topics of interest to church musicians and music leaders.

- Keynote address by Rev. Dr. Robert S. Rayburn
- Helpful discussion regarding music and worship by Rev. Dr. John Day
- Timely instruction on hymn-writing by poet/author/hymn historian, Douglas Bond
- A special symposium choir led by Mr. Treadway during the Sunday morning services
- Mini-concert, refreshments during break times, tasty lunches
- ... plus networking, and thoughtful dialogue with other church musicians.
The host church and the Alliance of Christian Musicians are underwriting much of the cost for the event. So the registration fee, including two lunches, is set at a very affordable $29.00.
- NOTE: If you wish to attend Mr. Metzger’s organ concert only, on Friday, October 17, 7:30 p.m., a $10.00 donation will be received from you at the door.

BUILDING KINGDOM FAMILIES: Seminar 1—Building Obedience
Speaker: Robert Andrews
Where: Snohomish County PUD Training Center, 2320 California St., Everett, WA 98206
Date: November 1, 2008
Time: 10:00 – 4:00
Cost: $15 per person, $25.00 per couple ($10 and $20 if before October 15) Register early as space is limited.
Food: Bring your own lunch. Coffee and water provided.
Overview:
Do your children and teens struggle to obey you, always having their own better idea of what they should do? Do they exert their will against yours, throw temper tantrums, tell you “No!,” refuse to go to bed promptly, refuse to do their home-work, chores, or listen to and look at you when you talk to them? Are they sullen and surly, ruining family times with their sour attitudes?
These are just a few of the very common symptoms of children and teens who desperately need their parents to love them enough to exercise biblical discipline in their lives. There are solid biblical answers that are tried and true that only need to be applied by loving parents.
Come join Robert for an in-depth look at these answers. He has three grown children who served as laboratories for the application of these principles. He is the author of the home-educator’s classic book The Family: God’s Weapon for Victory in which he and his wife Jill share their numerous failures as well as their successes in their own relationship and in the lives of their children in their painful struggle to apply God’s Word to their family.
The seminar consists of five one-hour sessions covering the full range of parenting, from training children to be obedient to you because they want to, not because they “ought to,” ‘need to,” or “should,” to imparting a vision for their future as contributing adult members of the kingdom of God in whatever field they may enter.
